Telugu Desam Party @ Viziyanagaram

Telugu Desam Party, izianagaram district committee president Yadla Ramana Murty has said that enumeration of eligible voters was not being done in anti-establishment villages and mistakes were detected in areas where the process had been completed.

Addressing a press conference on Thursday, Mr. Murty said so far only 40 per cent of the process was completed and the party had decided to approach the Election Commission for extension of last date, July 14. He attributed the slow progress to shortage of cameras. That apart, priority was being given to voters in Congress-dominated villages, he added.

With regard to power cuts, he called upon people to participate in the dharna at all sub-stations in the district on Friday demanding uninterrupted domestic supply and nine hours power supply for farming.

On the reported remarks of Botcha Satyanarayana, Minister for Housing, that the TDP would perish after actor Chiranjeevi launched his political party, Mr. Murty said that the Minister, if his curiosity towards the proposed political outfit was any indication, would be the first person to join the film actor’s party from the district and exuded confidence that the TDP would win all the nine Assembly segments in the district in the forthcoming polls.

He also criticised him for levelling baseless charges against P. Asok Gajapathi Raju, former Revenue Minister, on Thotapalli project works . Former chief whip S.V. China Appala Naidu and others were present.
